Who is a leader?
You might think you’re not a leader because you don’t have a title, position, pay or people working for you.
It doesn’t matter where you fit in your work’s org chart, if you’re the person everyone comes to when they want to learn or know something – you’re a leader.
A title, position, pay and people working for you aren’t what makes you a leader, but the following do:
You know who is struggling and why. You might even know how to help them. YOU ARE A LEADER!
You know the difference between those who know what they are doing and those who are faking it until they hopefully make it. YOU ARE A LEADER!
You have ideas about how to make things better, how to do it easier, faster, more cost-effectively. YOU ARE A LEADER!
You see the trainwrecks BEFORE they occur and know how to stop them in their tracks. YOU ARE A LEADER!
You have all of this knowledge. You have the skills. You have the education and/or experience. YOU ARE A LEADER!
It doesn’t matter where you fit in your work’s org chart, if you’re the person everyone comes to when they want to learn or know something – you’re a leader. You’re leading somebody. Even if you are leading no one else, you’re leading yourself.
Do you still think you’re not a leader?
